Tobacco Prevention & Intervention Coordinator

This position is responsible for the implementation and management of a community-based, culturally appropriate, tobacco prevention, education, intervention, and control program as per grant and sub grant guidelines. The Tobacco Prevention and Intervention Program is designed to increase the awareness of tobacco and its effects and to help current users of tobacco products end cycles of addiction and dependency. The Tobacco Prevention and Intervention Coordinator serves the needs of the Chugachmiut area and is directly supervised by the Community & Family Services Division/ Behavioral Health Department Addictions Coordinator. 

Required Skills 

Associate of Arts or Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. Experience can be substituted for degree. 

Obtain certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor and/or certification as a Behavioral Health Aide within two years. 

Experience working with Tribal communities and Experience in health and/or human services.

Grant management experience preferred.
