POSITION SUMMARY
The Life Enrichment Assistant will assist in the planning, organization and directing of activity programs for residents. Prepare reports on residents’ progress as required. Activities may include sports, dramatics, nature study, social activities, games and arts and crafts in accordance with residents’ need.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Life Enrichment Operations
- Provide support in the planning of activities and social events as directed; including any preparation, decorating and/or pre-planning necessary to insure the overall resident experience is positive and participation is high
- Assist in development and implementation of ides, programs and events
- Responsible for the proper documentation of attendance into resident records within company guidelines and standards relating to confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, etc
- Encourage participation and provide assistance to residents in regards to carrying out all activities; transport residents as per service or care plan; accompany residents on schedule outings; leads activity groups Company and Interdepartmental
- Incorporate direction from Executive Director and company strategic goals to refine and improve efficiencies
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality with regard to business operations and resident privacy.
- Understand and support all aspects of residents rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse, through all interactions required to carry out your duties
- Promptly report any evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents rights to the appropriate person
- Support an atmosphere which promotes a homelike environment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Valid/current state driver’s license required
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Experience with activity or recreation programming strongly preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills \
- Knowledge of regulations of Assisted Living and Resident Rights.
- Knowledge of Vulnerable Adult Reporting requirements.
- Must be highly adept at handling situations that require a high degree of flexibility/adaptability; must be open to change
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
- . * Ability to use a variety of general office equipment including but not limited to a personal computer, fax machine, copy machine, laminator and cameras.
- Knowledge of and skill in using a personal computer and related software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Skill in basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, and decimals
- Skill of developing and maintaining positive relationships with external and internal customers
- Knowledge of and ability to apply commonly accepted rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation in written communication to develop management reports and summaries
- Ability to identify and carry out actions to achieve goals while considering possible risks to effectively develop long- and short-range company objectives
- Skill in preparing written materials such as correspondence, reports and proposals to meet purpose and audience
- Skill of determining alternatives that would correct a situation to provide effective guest service
- Skill of receiving a message, understanding the intended message and giving feedback to ensure guest expectations are met
- Ability to work cooperatively within a group to make the work of the group successful
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as equipment specifications, maintenance criteria, OSHA safety guidelines and procedure manuals, safety rules, and operation and maintenance instructions
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must possess ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and nonprofessional personnel
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
