Office Administrator

Description
West Virginia University the Division ofTalent and Culture is seeking applications for an Office Administrator. The primary purpose of this position is to provide complex administrative support to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of the Division of Talent and Culture, the Senior Policy Analyst and the Executive Director. 


In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operation activities for six units within the division.
  • Works independently handling administrative problems and inquiries and manages the complex and changing calendar and schedule for the AVP of the Division; understands his priorities, knows what can be rescheduled or cancelled and what takes precedence.
  • Provides administrative support to other directors/assistant directors within unit as needed.
  • Supervise two HR Assistant I positions.
  • Track the divisional budget by working directly with the business office and AVP.
  • Serves as one of the building supervisors for a 600 people building. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, office administration, or related field of study; a combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • One (1) year of experience in the following areas:
  • Customer service
  • Progressive responsibility in office administration
  • Complex administrative support and calendaring
  • Budget management and supervisor experience is preferred.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, accountability, responsibility, and apply judgment.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Current computer skills, utilizing Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and/or procedures.
