Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Will be trained and certified in Nurturing Parenting Program Models;
- Co-lead/facilitate children’s programs and parent-child interactive sessions utilizing NPP curriculum;
- Engage children in NPP activities that are complementary to parent’s program;
- Communicate with program participants (phone, email, mail) between sessions, as needed;
- Work with education team to evaluate individual needs of families in program and tailor programming accordingly (ie. needed accommodations);
- Assist in referral process from DCFS ;
- Receive weekly supervision and problem-solve issues that may arise;
- Assist in program documentation, evaluation and reporting requirements;
- Facilitate parent educations sessions as needed;
- Other duties as required or assigned.
- Excellent skills in facilitating groups from diverse backgrounds;
- Skills in working with children and teens in groups and one-on-one;
- Skills in conducting home visits, as needed;
- Ability to use assessment tools/collect data;
- Ability to travel in-state with some overnight stays;
- Knowledge of training program development and presentation techniques;
- Knowledge of teaching principles and methods;
- Ability to research, develop, evaluate, and revise training programs;
- Ability to coordinate and conduct training programs;
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain records;
- Ability to present ideas and information to large and diverse groups;
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to operate AV equipment.
Required Education and/or Experience
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in education, special education, or a related field, plus one (1) year of related education/training experience. Ability to work outside normal business hours.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development/education and Five years or more direct experience leading children’s programs across diverse settings.
