The Philanthropy Coordinator manages the prospect research program for Alaska, and Canada, performing research and analysis, discovering new prospects and providing written reports on donors for individual meetings, special events and field trips. The Coordinator is responsible for managing donor stewardship processes and communications. The Coordinator is responsible for both business units’ various departmental activities such as meeting and event logistics, assisting donors with gift-making and asset transfer, processing gifts, providing information to donors and prospects, and drafting correspondence and acknowledgments. They may also perform qualification calls that lead to scheduling follow up meetings for other fundraisers. The Coordinator will effectively communicate or distribute information to assist staff in making decisions, solving problems, and improving workflow. They may be asked to take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team. For the Alaska program, the Coordinator uses the available fundraising management system to maintain records, and track progress with prospects and donors. The Coordinator may have substantial contact with staff, donors, vendors, legal and financial professionals. They will manage, track, and report on key data related to the team scope and priorities, and provide guidance to chapter staff on use and/or processing of data. The Coordinator maintains advanced skills with the systems and resources used by the team to execute tasks and provide direction. They will implement processes to improve effectiveness based on their in-depth understanding of related policies and procedures. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Experience building relationships with staff, customers or similar.
  • Experience with database administration and spreadsheet software, including managing and tracking data.
  • Experience generating reports and interpreting data.
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience working across teams.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of relevant field.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross cultural experience appreciated.
  • Ability to analyze information for the purpose of coordinating and planning activities, and solving problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with donor research or related program support functions.
  • Ability to implement processes and strategic program goals.
  • Ability to coordinate projects and work under pressure.
  • Ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to write and edit written materials for use with donor solicitations, member communications, and special events.
  • Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results.
  • Knowledge of current trends in the fundraising field.
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION 

The desired start date for this position is approximately February 26, 2018. The first round of interviews are expected to be held January 16 & 17, 2018. Candidates will be advised of finalized interview dates when the position closes. 

SALARY INFORMATION 

Annual salary depending on experience; minimum $50,200
